Founded in 2015, the Yorkton Legion Blue Jays Basketball Club provides athletes in Yorkton and the surrounding area with a competitive and supportive environment to develop their skills and love for the game. Our club is dedicated to fostering growth through structured skill development and competitive play in a safe and positive atmosphere.
For the 2024 season, we are offering programs for boys and girls from U-13 to U-18. Each session consists of half skill development and half gameplay, ensuring athletes develop both their abilities and game experience.
At the U-13 to U-18 levels, we prepare athletes to excel at the high school level. Our teams practice twice a week and compete in three tournaments:
Our priority is player development and fostering a passion for basketball. Winning is important, but growth, effort, and teamwork come first.
We believe the key to growing basketball in our community is investing in our coaches. Younger, less experienced coaches will be paired with mentor coaches to ensure high-quality instruction at every level.
Every athlete deserves an opportunity to play and improve. We do not cut players. However, because club basketball is highly competitive, we may designate some athletes as practice players to ensure a positive experience. If a player is unable to participate in tournaments, the tournament portion of their fees will be refunded.
Athletes will receive equal playing time through the first three quarters of every game. In the fourth quarter, playing time is at the coach’s discretion, based on effort, performance, and team discipline.
